City Signal Pro (“we”, “us”) explains here how personal data is handled when you read citysignalpro.life, send a neighbourhood tip, ask about a housing notice, telephone or email the newsroom, or visit 55 Amoy Street, #02-01, Singapore 069880. We work in Singapore and follow the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) and PDPC guidance.
This website is a newsroom. It is not a place to leave passwords, card numbers, one-time codes, or government login details. The form on contact.php is an enquiry form. If we licence a reprint of our own article for a community circular, that conversation happens by email after you write to us, not through a checkout page.
1. Who is responsible
City Signal Pro
55 Amoy Street, #02-01, Singapore 069880
Email: news@citysignalpro.life
Telephone: +65 6233 6120
Privacy mail goes to news@citysignalpro.life. We try to answer within thirty days. Tell us enough to find your record, and do not attach identity cards unless we have asked in writing for a specific lawful reason.
2. What this policy covers
It covers the public pages on citysignalpro.life, the contact form, calls and emails to +65 6233 6120 and news@citysignalpro.life, visits during desk hours, and the optional Google Maps pin on the contact page (loaded only after functional cookies are accepted). It does not cover town-council sites, housing-authority pages, or transport-operator apps we link to in a story. Those organisations have their own notices.
Journalism is separate from enquiry handling. Names that appear in a published report because they were in a public meeting, a posted notice, or an on-the-record comment are editorial use. Private tips about a neighbour’s household are treated as newsroom leads, not as content we will paste into a story without verification and a clear public-interest reason.
3. Data we collect
The form collects name, email, optional phone, and your message. We keep a time-stamped line in an internal log so we can see that an enquiry arrived. Emails to the newsroom include whatever you send in the thread. Phone notes are short and are used so the reporter who calls back has the same facts. If you ask about a reprint, we may keep the organisation name and circulation figure you volunteer so we can quote from SGD 40 without inventing a package. We do not ask for Unique Entity Number, GST numbers, or other registry identifiers as a condition of reading.
Web servers may log IP address, browser, time, and path. We use that to keep the site up and to see which beats are read. We do not run a third-party analytics pixel. If you allow functional cookies, Google may process data through Maps under Google’s rules. You can refuse and still read every story; the map stays unloaded.
4. Why we use it
We reply to tips, housing questions, civic-desk notes, and visit requests. We send a reprint quote if you asked for one. We keep a record of what we said we would check. We filter automated spam. Logs support security. Your cookie choice stays on your device so the banner does not repeat on every scroll. We do not sell lists. We do not feed your tip into a public model. We do not add you to a marketing blast you did not request.
5. PDPA bases
We notify through this page and through form labels. Handling a tip you sent is a purpose you would reasonably expect from a neighbourhood newsroom. Delivering a reprint quote is a purpose you would reasonably expect after you asked. Security logs are needed to run a public site. Maps wait for consent. You can withdraw optional consent by writing to news@citysignalpro.life. Withdrawal does not unwind a story already published lawfully, and it does not force us to erase logs still needed for security.
6. Who else might see it
Hosting and email providers see data as needed to deliver those services. Advisers to the newsroom may see a file if we need professional help. We disclose if Singapore law or a court requires it. If the newsroom is transferred, data may move with it under this policy unless we tell you otherwise. We do not give tip lists to advertisers.
7. Where it sits
The newsroom is in Singapore. Hosting or email vendors may process outside Singapore. We use contractual and practical steps that are reasonable so protection remains comparable to the PDPA. Enabling Maps may involve Google processing outside Singapore.
8. How long we keep it
Form messages and the log are kept up to twenty-four months after the last reply, longer if a legal hold or a correction file needs it. Reprint correspondence is kept for the licence term plus twelve months. Server logs usually rotate within ninety days unless an incident requires a hold. Cookie preference lives on your device until you clear it.
9. Security
Only staff who need enquiry access can open the mailbox and log. The form uses a honeypot, validates email before Reply-To is set, and strips line breaks from headers. We do not store card data because we never collect it. If a notifiable breach occurs we will follow PDPA assessment and notification duties.
10. Your choices
You may ask for access and correction, and you may withdraw optional consent, subject to the PDPA. Write to news@citysignalpro.life so we can check we are speaking with the right person. The Act allows refusals in defined cases, including where another person’s data would be revealed. You may approach the PDPC if we cannot resolve a complaint.
11. Young readers
The site is written for general readers of local news. We do not seek children’s data for marketing. If a parent believes a child submitted the form, tell us and we will delete what the law requires.
12. Confidential tips
If you are a source who needs confidentiality, say so in the first line. Those threads are not dropped into the same routine log review as a reprint invoice question. We still need a way to reach you if we cannot use the story without more facts.
13. Cookies
Essential storage remembers your banner choice. Functional storage is Maps after you accept. No advertising cookies. See the Cookie Policy.
14. Updates
We change this page when desks, hosting, or the law change. The date at the top moves. Material changes to enquiry handling will be described in plain language here. Later visits follow the newer text; earlier collection follows what we told you then, unless a newer legal duty applies.
15. Photographs and captions
Images on this site illustrate neighbourhood beats. They are not evidence that a particular resident lives at a particular block. Captions describe what is in the frame. We do not collect biometric data from photographs submitted as tips unless a story requires a published image and the person has agreed, or the image is already in a public setting where reporting is lawful. If you send a photo of a notice, we prefer the notice itself, not faces in the corridor.
16. Telephone recordings
We do not routinely record calls. If a reporter needs to record for accuracy, we will say so at the start of the call. Notes from unrecorded calls are treated as personal data of the caller when they identify you, and as editorial notes when they only describe a public incident you witnessed.
17. How to reach us
City Signal Pro, 55 Amoy Street, #02-01, Singapore 069880. news@citysignalpro.life. +65 6233 6120. Monday to Friday, 09:00–18:30 SGT. Also: Terms of Use and Contact.
If you write about a housing notice, include the scheme name on the letter and the date printed on it. Do not send full NRIC numbers. A masked identifier is enough if we need to distinguish two letters. We will not use your enquiry as a public letter to an agency unless you ask us to publish it and we agree in writing.
